Modern two level two bdrm house with air con, lagoon facing deck & amazing beach front setting! Muri Beach - Taakoka Island in the lagoon off the lawn to explore. Only Muri has in lagoon Motus and you can explore them all in the kayaks or paddle boards! This lagoon facing house on the 'golden mile' of Muri Beach was voted outright 'best holiday rental accommodation' in the Air New Zealand Cook Islands Tourism Awards in 2013 then runner up in 2016. We have a real desire to help our guests experience not only the house and our amazing beach setting but the island as well with recommendations, help and useful info so you don't waste any time once you're on the 'rock' ! When you arrive and head down the 30 metre driveway well away from the road on to the large 3/4 acre section there is a spacious feel and no compacted units or high rise apartments so there is space, privacy and distance from others! enter the house through the private carport and gaze at the amazing views from the open plan downstairs area to the recently mosaic tiled pool and lagoon. The house has two bedrooms and two bathrooms over two floors and sleeps 4 comfortably. both bedrooms have balconies and air conditioning. the kitchen has all modern equipment including dishwasher and large fridge freezer. there is a washing machine to use in the downstairs bathroom. the lounge has a huge couch with the usual TV/ DVD, books and music port and the huge deck will be your main place of stay - it has a BBQ, outside dining, loads of chairs, cushions plus sun loungers , paddle boards and of course the large 9 metre mosaic tiled salt pool for your sole use during your stay ! Taakoka Villa is your house for your entire stay! as a 'self catered' holiday house you book and stay safely in your own home for your island holiday. The large section also has a outside shower and single and double kayaks, kayaks plus snorkel gear that can be used in the pristine lagoon to explore the island right in front of the house -oh and dont forget the pool ! Muri really is the main tourist hub of the island and our setting is 500m from the now famous Muri Night Market, stroll off the lawn on to the beach and walk down to one of the resorts for a cocktail or to the sailing club to sit on the deck and watch the activity on the beach. the two lagoon cruise options are also a few minutes walk from the house yet on the beach is feels like there's no one else around as we are just far enough away from the action but its right there when you want it ! Most guests choose to be collected from the airport by our experienced driver and taken to the house ($20 NZD pp) then decide if they need to hire a car or scooter. All the major rental companies are a walk away. Many guests decide that the house is so central to all amenities that they dont even hire any transport ! there is a bus stop at the top of the driveway that will take you to the main town area or you can hire bicycles and explore the island at a more leisurely rate - we can offer advice around your requirements upon booking.
