Establishment more than a century old in the city of Thiers built in 1835 on the site of another establishment which was baptized in memory of Napoleon's visit to Thiers.

A former post house on the road from Clermont-Ferrand to Lyon, this establishment was inhabited by George Sand during the writing of her novel “La ville noire” and also by her friend Balzac.
The hotel L'Aigle d'Or is located in the heights of the medieval town of Thiers, in Auvergne. It offers 19 rooms with free Wi-Fi access and features traditional decor in the style of the 19th century.
Each room is also equipped with a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom and toilet with a bath or shower. Guests can relax in the common lounge areas.
A self-service continental breakfast is offered every day from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. in the dining room.
